Our fine mesquite furniture is handcrafted one piece at a time by a small family furniture maker. Our standard pieces are coffee tables, end tables, the sofa back, and the dining room set.
Characteristics of our mesquite furniture:
- Handcrafted from solid mesquite
- Our pieces are fine finished unlike most mesquite furniture which has a rough finish
- Copper inlay in all surface cracks and knots
- Traditional construction methods used
- Mortise and tenon leg and rail joints
- Dovetailed drawers
- Wooden drawer slides
- Hand rubbed finish
- The fine finish of the furniture fits almost any décor, including Southwest, Contemporary, Traditional, or Rustic
- Heirloom pieces designed to be treasured for generations
- Because of the variation of the wood grain and copper inlay – no two pieces are ever the same
- Truly a custom piece at an affordable price
The sofa back table with the cut out shelf is his signature piece. It is 5’ long, 13” wide and 30” high
About Mesquite:
-
Mesquite has a great variety of wood grains depending upon the growth rate and stress of the tree.
-
Mesquite grows in the desert Southwest, Mexico, and Texas
-
Mesquite is one of the hardest woods in the world, yet a fine finished piece is soft to the touch
-
The hardest of the wood makes it difficult to dent, mar, or break which contributes to a piece that will last a long time
-
It is truly a beautiful wood. Rich brown color, wild grain, and good figure all draw the eye to a well made piece of furniture.
-
Mesquite like cherry darkens with age. It develops a rich brownish red patina that becomes more beautiful over time
-
Due to the hardness of the wood, mesquite is a difficult wood to work. Seldom do you find a furniture maker who fashions such fine pieces from this wood
